Fernandes\u00a0: A Journey of Dedication and Service\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On<em> <\/em>the occasion of the 48th anniversary of his ordination, we celebrate the extraordinary journey of Fr. Simpliciano N. Fernandes, whose ministry has spanned over four decades with unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions to the Church and community. Ordained on April 21, 1978, during a challenging time for the Archdiocese, Fr. Simpliciano&#8217;s early years in the priesthood were marked by resilience and devotion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr. Simpliciano has always sought to expand his knowledge and skills to better serve his community. His decision to pursue higher studies at St. Xavier&#8217;s College, Mapusa, led to his involvement in religious journalism. His contributions to the field earned him the prestigious Fr. John Barret Journalism Award, and he was selected as the Young Catholic Journalist of India for the Summer University in Europe. He received diplomas in Journalism from Fribourg University (Switzerland), Gregorian University (Rome), and Universit\u00e9 de Lyon (France).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Fr. Simpliciano&#8217;s leadership and innovative spirit have been evident in his work. He along with Fr. Antonio Filipe Pais is credited with the establishment of the first Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) in Mapusa in the year 1987. He also served as a member of the drafting Committee of the Constitution for PPC thus reiterating his role as an efficient enabler of Community building. As a pastor he has been dean for two terms of the deanery of Aldona pointing to his pastoral expertise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his pastoral work, Fr. Simpliciano was instrumental in the construction of new church buildings (Our Lady of Rosary, Caranzalem and Fatorda; Camurlim, Salcete), School &amp; Cemetry (Candeleria, Baina). His vision and leadership in both pastoral and educational projects have left an indelible impact on the Archdiocese.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Simpliciano N. Fernandes on his 48&#8243; Anniversary of Ordination. His tireless service, faith, and commitment continue to inspire all who have been touched by his ministry.
