St. Sebastian English Primary school\u00a0<\/strong>PRIMARY SCHOOL activity report\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>End of August to Mid-September<\/strong><\/p>\n

Goa Quiz\u00a0Goa Quiz\u00a0Goa Quiz Competition was held on 27th August 2018. The students of Std. I – IV participated in this competition. The main aim of this competition was to acquire knowledge about Goa i.e. culture, tradition, places of heritage etc. There was enthusiastic participation by the students.
\nTalk On Child Safety\u00a0Miss Ana Fernandes working for a Child Line NGO visited the school to give a talk on safety of children. She held separate sessions for the girls and boys. Emphasizing the word, ‘ALERT’ i.e. alert to see, touch, hold, being alone, etc., she explained about private and public body parts. The main aim of this talk was to provide information about child safety and protection inorder to avoid mental stress. The students were also informed about the helpline number 1098 to be dialed in case of danger.
\nTeachers’ Day Celebration\u00a0It was celebrated on 5th September 2018. The day began with the Eucharistic mass bearing the theme,\u00a0 ‘God uses Teachers to paint life.’ It was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Pereira. Invoking God’s blessings on the teachers, he urged them to use strategies that would create interest in the child to learn and prepare them for the future. A handmade bookmark was presented by him to the teachers as a token of gratitude for their services. After mass, the students put up a variety programme for the teachers and presented beautiful\u00a0 cards prepared by them. This was followed by the P.T.A. programme which was entertaining. Snacks were sponsored by the management. A token of appreciation and love was given to each staff member by the P.T.A. An additional token of gratitude was given from the students and management. This was followed by lunch for teachers sponsored by a parent. Teachers had an enjoyable day and felt very special. Many ex-students also visited the school along with their parents to greet the teachers.
\nDiocesan Catechetical centre – 50th Golden JubileeAs part of the the Diocesan Catechetical centre’s 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations, the following programmes were arranged for the students:–\u00a0 Novena prayersA decade of the Rosary was recited each day followed by hymn singing and flower procession. This was\u00a0 \u00a0done to deepen the faith in Mother Mary and to impart her values to the students.-\u00a0 Coloring CompetitionIt was organized on 4th September 2018. Students from Std. I and Std. II had to color the picture of Mother Mary and the students of Std III and Std IV had to color and decorate the picture of Mother Mary which was done beautifully. One student from each class was awarded a prize. The winners were: Miss Zane Quadros (Std I), Miss Keziah Juliao (Std II), Mast. Rishikesh Parvatkar (Std III), Miss Zeba Laskar (Std IV).
\n–\u00a0 Lucky Mothers’ DayA draw on ‘Lucky Mother’ was held to honour a mother of our students. The names of the mothers were written and dropped in a box. One name was picked as a lucky mother. Mrs. Rifa Fernandes, mother of Abner Fernandes (Std III) and Athalie Fernandes (Std IV) won the prize.
\n–\u00a0 Sweet Dish CompetitionThis program held on 7th September 2018 was organized to identify the talent and creativity in mothers. All together 25 mothers of our students participated. A variety of sweet dishes were prepared by the participants representing different states. The judges of the competition were Mrs. Melita Ozorio (Ex P.T.A. chairperson) and Mrs. Sarita Fernandes (PPC member of St. Sebastian Church). All enjoyed the dishes and the program. The prize winners were: 1st prize – Mrs. Nelofer Fernandes, 2nd prize – Mrs. Mansi Khamari, 3rd prize – Mrs. Pricila Fernandes-\u00a0 Card making\u00a0 \u00a0 Students from all the classes made beautiful cards for their mothers to express their love and care.<\/p>\n

PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES REPORT FROM JULY & AUGUST
\nColouring Competition\u00a0 It was held on 27th July 2018. Students coloured on pre-designed sheets which were judged on the basis of neatness and colour appropriateness. There was enthusiastic participation. Three pictures were selected by our Administrator from each class. The prize winners were as follows:\u00a0Nursery (Theme \u2013 Save Water): 1st Prize \u2013 Ronel Mechery, 2nd Prize \u2013 Wenzel D’Silva, 3rd Prize \u2013 Janelle ColacoK.G. \nRhyme Competition It was held on 21st August 2018. Rhyme recitation develops speaking skills and helps children to express their feelings through facial expressions and gestures. The students were judged on voice modulation, expression and actions. Fancy Dress Competition Fancy dress competition was held on 31st August 2018. It was overwhelming to see our little ones speaking confidently. The activity helped the students to overcome their stage fear and bring out their inner talent. The students showcased their talent cheerfully.
