Let Us Pray for Them.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is this Day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a SPECIAL DAY for the Archdiocese of Goa. It is dedicated entirely to praying for the sanctification of our priests and deacons. The whole Archdiocese comes together on this one day with one focus: our clergy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What Does &#8220;Sanctification&#8221; Mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanctification = becoming holy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We pray that our priests become more like Christ. We ask God to purify, strengthen, and bless them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At its core, this day is a dual call to action.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. For the Faithful (That&#8217;s Us!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are invited to pray intensely for&nbsp; our Archbishop, Auxiliary bishop and all our priests and deacons serving in every parish in our Archdiocese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why do they need our prayers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They carry heavy burdens\u2014spiritual, emotional, and administrative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They shepherd communities through grief, joy, and doubt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They often face deep loneliness and isolation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They stand at the altar, bring us the Sacraments, and guide us through life&#8217;s triumphs and trials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>They face the same struggles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They are human like us<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 They face temptations and weariness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Their shoulders carry not only their own burdens but also the countless confessions and intentions of their flock<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What should we pray for?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pray for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their hearts to remain ablaze with the love of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their strength to be renewed by the Holy Spirit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their faith to be fortified and made strong<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their courage to preach the Gospel with conviction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their holiness for personal purity and spiritual protection<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their joy to find happiness in their sacred ministry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remember:<\/strong> Sustaining them in prayer is not a mere courtesy. It is essential for the vitality of the entire Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. For the Clergy (Our Priests)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This day serves as a spiritual mirror for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Time to Pause<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 A moment to step away from the relentless demands of parish life<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 A chance to return to the &#8220;first love&#8221; of their vocation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Time to Reflect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 To remember their identity\u2014not just as administrators or social workers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 To see themselves as conduits of divine grace<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 To reflect on their hearts through the Sacrament of Reconciliation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 To conform their hearts more closely to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you can do on 20th August?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Attend Mass and offer it for our parish priest<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Pray a Rosary for all clergy in Goa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Send a message to clergy: &#8220;I am praying for you today&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Make a small sacrifice (skip a meal, give up screen time)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Speak only good things about priests in your home<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to honour priests in our homes?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speak Well of Them<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Speak well of priests before your children<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Let your words reflect gratitude and respect<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Help young hearts see the beauty of this holy calling<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Encourage Vocations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Encourage your children to walk in righteousness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Pray that if the Lord wills, they may receive the grace to answer His call to the priesthood<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remember:<\/strong> A vocation is born in the home.
