Fear of Root Canal

The words “Root Canal” tends to strike fear in people. But the truth is that root canal procedures are not that bad!
Root Canal treatment is important because an infected tooth can be saved, relieve your pain and restore your smile.
What is a Root Canal?
Root canal is technically a part of your tooth. It’s the hollow part inside that contains the dental pulp and nerves.
Root canal treatment is done when the dental pulp in your teeth gets infected.
The infected pulp has to be removed or the tooth is at risk of being extracted.
How do you know you need a Root Canal Treatment?
You’ll notice pain, particularly sharp or sudden pain. Can be throbbing and you notice it more when you’re trying to bite or chew food.
Any breach in your tooth, like an injury crack or chip can expose the pulp to painful inflammation and damaging infection.
Sensitivity to hot or cold food and beverages.
Gums around the infected tooth may be inflamed and sensitive.
Lastly, you may notice that your tooth is discolored and darker.

Procedure:
Your dentist will make a small hole in the infected tooth in order to remove infected tissue and seal the tooth with a filling and later on a permanent crown is placed and leave the clinic with a “Like-new tooth”.
For a lot of patients, pain actually eases after getting a root canal. The infection puts pressure on the walls of your tooth, causing a lot of pain.
The pressure and the pain of the infection are released once the root canal is completed.
The root canal treatment also ensures stability to the bite force and provides aesthetics to your overall appearance.
Avoid removal, Save your natural tooth with the Root Canal Treatment!
