Editorial – June 2025

Uniqueness of the month of June is the numerous changes taking shape in various aspects of our lives. Change in class- be it in school or college, change in or shift of residence for various reasons or change of Priests in different Parishes are normally the events unfolding in June and this year too is not different.

The sudden and unexpected news of the transfer of both our Parish Priests, Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues and Fr. Josely Rocha came as a rude shock to all of us. Last June, we had welcomed both, Fr. Agnelo and Fr. Josely to our Parish and now within just a year we have to bid them adieu.

Our Parish Priest, Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues, in spite of having some health issues, gave us his very best in attending to our spiritual needs with great compassion. Now as the day dawns on the next chapter in his life at Mother of God, Pomburpa Parish, we pray that God continues to richly bless him with good health and grants him peace and happiness always.

Our Assistant to Parish Priest, Fr. Josely Rocha, was associated with our monthly magazine, PORMOLL, where he successfully showcased his leadership qualities. In a short time, Fr. Josely, endeared us with his talents in music and creativity besides sharing his wisdom and knowledge. Father, your words of wisdom shared through your preachings will be missed by the young and old alike, not forgetting your involvement in the Choir, both Junior and Senior. Your farewell is a moment of sadness for us but we wish you all the best so that you achieve success at your new posting in Immaculate Conception, Paroda Church.

Fr. Agnelo and Fr. Josely, we convey to you, our heartfelt gratitude, love and prayers and wish you well always.

As a new chapter opens for Aquem Parish, we welcome our new Parish Priest, Fr. Simpliciano Nazareth Fernandes and also Fr. Anil Kumar. We assure you our support at all times, to continue the good work in our Lord’s vineyard. Together we will move forward.

We also begin our Trezen of St. Anthony in the Tolebando, Chapel from 1st June’25, with evening services commencing at 5.30 pm. Let us all participate in the services and pray to St. Anthony for his protection and blessings on us all.

Until we meet again,

Take care and stay safe!!
