15th August is another date very important in the Roman Catholic Calendar. It’s a date wherein we commemorate the Assumption of Mother Mary. What does it signify?
It’s a date when Mother Mary has assumed to Heaven, following the death. This feast is called Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary or the DORMITION of the Most Holy Mother of GOD.
The dogma of the Catholic Church tells us that Virgin Mother Mary after her earthly life, her body and soul was assumed into heavenly Glory. This was defined by Pope Pius XII.
On 1st November 1950 Pope Pius XII issued MUNIFICENTISSIMUS DEUS an authorative statement of Official Doctrine of Roman Catholicism, states as “By the Authority of Our Lord JESUS CHRIST, of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define it to be a Divinely revealed Dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly GLORY”. This proclamation statement is a statute for all of us to believe the Queenship of Mother Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
The New Testament contains no explicit narrative about the death nor Assumptions of Mother Mary. However some scriptural messages have been theologically interpreted to describe this Mystery, of her death and Assumption, and her Coronation as Queen of Heaven and Earth, which we ponder and reflect upon in 4th and 5th Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
This feast on 15th August also brings us to note that on 13th August we celebrate or commemorate the day as Holy Death of Mother Mary (Boa Morte).

Many Catholic thinkers of Philosophers believe that she did not die at all. But was assumed directly into heaven. Wherein God declared her as Queen of Heaven and Earth.In Catholic Religion there are a few persons who have attained heavenly bliss both and soul. In the Old Testament Prophet Elizah went to Heaven in a chariot of fire and horses of fire.
Jesus Christ Ascended into heaven on the third day and Mother Mary assumed into heaven.
Our heaven father gave the privilege to Mother Mary to be crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth as she was the Mother of Jesus Christ through whom the whole HISTORY OF SALVATION began.
