Altar Serving, The call to server Christ

Other than walking in processions, ringing the Altar bell, and of course serving on the Altar, we Altar servers except of serving on the altar, and serving in other liturgical service, we also help the church in some small acts as, in whatever service we provide to others we look upon it as the service to God.

Over the past years, the Altar Servers Association has been participating in various competitions like, kopel making, drawing competition, Christmas decoration, and many more events like this. But, in every way possible most of these contests keeps our focus on Christ.

Indulgences

We have heard a lot about Indulgences or Indulgence. Sometimes we read about it in the Catholic magazines, Holy pictures or even the Priests speak about it in their homilies. I was curious to know about this Indulgence and read about it, hence I thought of sharing some view points about the same and how it benefits us. As this month of November is dedicated to souls, we can earn many indulgences and save many souls too.

Dental Erosion

Tooth erosion is when your enamel (the outer, protective layer of your teeth) wears thin. Dental erosion, or tooth erosion, is a common problem that can occur at any age.
When your tooth enamel becomes thin, it weakens your teeth and makes them more vulnerable to stains, sensitivity and cavities.

Editorial – October 2024

We are moving into the tenth month of the year, October, which is the time for festivals and celebrations, specially in India, as we prepare ourselves for some of the most significant events of the year. It is also a month with many national and international observances, most important amongst them being the Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on 2nd October to honour our Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of non-violence and peace. It is also known as the International Day of Non-violence. We are always encouraged to be non violent because non violence has proved that it is a good enough weapon to achieve victories like we did at the time of India’s freedom struggle.

Holy Guardian Angels

In Roman Catholicism, Guardian Angels are believed to act as intermediaries between God and Man. The Eastern Church teaches that “each man has a guardian angel who stands before the face of God. This angel is not only a friend and protector from evil, but sends good thoughts and is our spiritual kin”.

Day of Ecology – Apostolate

The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to listen and respond together to the cry of Creation: the family around the world unites to pray and protect our common home. The title is the theme of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, held on 1 September 2024. The theme is drawn from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans (8:19-25), where the Apostle explains what it means for us to live according to the Spirit and focuses on the sure hope of salvation that is born of faith, namely, newness of life in Christ.
