One morning during prayer time, the Holy Spirit led me to God’s word in Jeremiah 1:5.

“EVEN BEFORE I formed you in the womb I have known you;

EVEN BEFORE you were born I have set you apart and appointed you a prophet to the nations”.

This hit me hard. God my creator knew me even before He formed me in my mother’s womb! He set me apart for His work! It got me thinking that such a direct message implies a MISSION for me. Like Jeremiah I got a bit nervous about being a ‘prophet’ but I decided I could be a witness to God’s love. So I share my experience of God’s love in and through Jesus. Read more

As teachers, God has given us an important area of influence, and we have the awesome responsibility and privilege to be a light in this dark world. If we truly believe in Christ and the desire to follow HIM, then our faith must impact every aspect of our lives, no matter what our vocation is. The teacher’s life style and character are as important as their professional credentials. If you are a Christian teacher, it shouldn’t matter where you teach. Our goal should be the same – to show Christ to our students.

All of us can and should be intentional about showing Christ and His love in every way we can. God is LOVE: if we want to show Christ to our students, we must also love them – all of them. Even the ones driving us crazy. Love is a powerful force. We’ve seen its powers. We know what it is capable of. In our homes, in our classrooms, love is what makes the biggest impact, what changes hearts and minds. Read more

Our talent is God’s gift to us. What we do with it is our gift back to God. Each one of us is blessed with different talents and sports, is one of them. Witnessing Christ through sports definitely makes the world a better place. A sport (exercise) is to the body what reading is to the mind and a healthy body leads to a healthy mind which in turn leads to a healthy individual. It not only changes your body. In late 2019, the outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a human coronavirus (SARS CoV-2) was discovered in Wuhan, China. The infection spread globally and in March 2020 was recognized as a pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO) and the disease was given the name COVID-19.  Since the onset, researchers and health professionals have been working on providing information on the varying clinical course of this disease.

COVID-19 primarily affects the lungs with presentation of ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) and subsequent fibrosis. It appears to have a systemic inflammatory response with multiple organ involvement. Presentation of those affected by the virus varies greatly from asymptomatic to severe complications requiring mechanical ventilation support. Those who are physically fit and leading a healthy lifestyle are comparatively less affected than those who have pre-existing conditions. Read more

“Wow!” Alpa exclaimed for the nth time as she gaped at the canvas being painted in vivid colours by the celebrity artist, Emilia.

Alpa had always wanted to paint. She had spent innumerable evenings drawing and colouring her art book as a child. However, as she grew up, her parents decided that she must study engineering as it is tough to make a living as an artist. Alpa was good in studies, especially Maths and Physics, but her real interest lay in painting. Nonetheless, Alpa was well aware of the hardships, struggling artists have to endure to make a living in the initial years of their careers, and she didn’t want any of it. Read more

Psalms are songs, but a different kind of songs. Some of the Psalms praise God for His faithfulness and power, some songs are of God’s historical acts on behalf of the people of God, some give us hope and encouragement in the love God has for His people, and some lament over a certain tragedy or discomfort they are experiencing. Psalm 42 is a psalm of lament, focusing more on the “thirsting or yearning or longing of the Psalmist”. Laments are heart-felt cries to God while in pain or suffering, sometimes in the midst of the times when we feel God is absent. It is said that Pss 42 and 43 make one song.
