“A Church without Youth, is a Church without future. Moreover, Youth without Church is Youth without a future”.
St. Sebastian Parish Youth Association (SSPYA) organized the Inaugural Mass on 7th July, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., which was the onset for the Pastoral Year 2024-2025. The Holy Eucharistic celebration was organised by the Parish Youth under the guidance of the Animator Fr Josely Rocha.
The main celebrant was Fr Josely Rocha. The theme of the liturgy was, “Go, proclaim the Good News”. During the homily, Fr Josely reflected on the Apostolic letter of Pope Francis, ‘Christus Vivit’. The voice of Pope Francis calling each youth to live life, as Christ is alive in each one of them. Let no one rob their youthfulness. After the communion rite all the members were called in front of the Altar, raising their right hand to the paschal candle and taking the oath of fulfilling their roles and responsibilities as members of the St. Sebastian Parish Youth Association (SSPYA). The members actively and prayerfully participated in the Eucharistic celebration. The Readers were audible and spirit filled at the service.
After the mass the Youth had their group photo shoot with their animator Fr Josely Rocha and the Parish Priest Fr Agnelo Rodrigues. They then moved on to the Chapel hall for a get- together, where the planner for the pastoral year 2024-25 was discussed and various other responsibilities allotted.
