St. Vincent de Paul was born in France in 1581 and died on 27/09/1660 but his great concern and love for the under privileged lives on till date through the society of St. Vincent de Paul.

S.S.V.P conference of St. Sebastian Church, Aquem, started under the leadership of spiritual director late Fr. Leslie Macfarlene along with a handful of brothers and sisters. Today our conference has a total of 22 members and our weekly meetings are held every Monday at 5:30pm. Our members frequently visit the sick, needy and cater to their necessities. As on date we are aiding, in cash, 6 families who are given medical aid and one person aid for Dialysis. In addition, during our frequent visits to Jyoti Bhavan, St. Tereza, Ambaulim aid in kind is given to them.

We are also having Twinage with Our Lady of Rosary Davorlim and Our Lady of Lourdes, Ambaulim to whom we give aid on monthly basis.

Every Christmas we have the Christmas hamper lottery sale and on 26th December, holy Mass, a Mass followed by get together for all elders and aided families of Aquem.

This year the proceeds from the sale of Christmas Hamper (lotteries) was Rs. 2,50,000/- and the same was distributed as follows.

6 families in Aquem 6 x 10,000 = 60,000/-

5 families in Ambaulim 5 x 10,000 = 50,000/-

Tution fee of 1 child in Ambaulim Rs. 10,000/-

Balance amount of Rs. 1,30,000/- has been retained in our fund for expenses arising throughout the year.

We are thankful to all for the generosity without which it would not have been possible for us to make a bountiful season for the needy.
