Born to Witness Christ…. through Holiness.

God cares for this world so He chooses people

The bible tells us that He predetermined that role of the prophets before they were conceived. Isaiah 49.5 and Jeremiah 1:5.

In a special way, Mary was chosen for the Salvation of humankind and therefore she received the privilege of being conceived free from the stain of original sin. Pope Pius IX says she received the benefits of salvation in Christ from the very moment of her Conception because God chose her to be the Mother of the Saviour.

The angel Gabriel saluted her as “full of grace”. This Grace is seen in Mary when she believes the words of the angel and accepts her mission as the Handmaid of the Lord. She turns that belief in action by carrying good tidings to Elizabeth. Elizabeth proclaims Mary’s holiness by calling her “blessed” because of “the fruit of her womb,” also calls her “blessed” because of her faith. Later in the Gospel we find Jesus acknowledging this greatness when the woman in the crowd praised the woman who gave birth to Him and nursed Him.

As a mother, Mary not only nursed and brought up Jesus but also became a sharer in His mission. She was the one who persuaded him for the first miracle. Further she is the spokesperson of her son’s will when she tells the servants, “Do what He tells you.” She comforted Him by the presence at the cross. She further carries on His mission by being a mother to the disciples of Jesus.

Mary is our mother who is disciples of Jesus under her maternity let us strengthen our belief and put our belief in action.
