The hidden catechism in the playing cards

Continuation……
the 5 The “5”The “5” of the playing card symbolizes the five wise virgins found in the Gospel of Mathew 25, 1-13. The Gospel speaks of ten virgins of whom five are wise virgins and five foolish. The wise represent  the true believers in Christ who are prepared for His coming while the foolish represent the unbelievers. The message of this parable is a warning to all of us. We are warned that Christ may delay His coming, but we should be prepared anytime. The Son of man, Jesus Christ may come in unexpected time, but we should be ready with our lamps full of oil. The oil represents our good works, our holiness and our faith in God. As believers, we must keep the fire burning in us, uphold and defend the truth in the word of God.

the 6The “6”The “6” of the playing cards tells us that God created the world in six days, as we find in the book of Genesis 1, 1-31. God the Father, is our creator and we are His creations. God was very happy with His creation, especially when God brought human person into being. God till today creates and also reveals Himself through His creation. God created everything in His wisdom. God gave everything in the hands of man for His survival but today man’s greed has destroyed God’s creation. Our catechism and church invites us to protect our nature so that we may experience God’s love and goodness through the nature. Let not our need become our greed and let not greed become our need, but let our greed be to protect God’s creation. Let’s not forget that God is our creator and God has appointed us as the stewards of His beautiful creation.
