7th August 2018 was a memorable day for us AQUEMCARS. We were told to host the Deanery Pastors day at Saint Sebastian Church, Aquem.

With great Joy and taking due responsibility the Parish Pastoral Council members along with some representatives of the Parish, Fr. Gregory Asst. Parish Priest and Parish Priest Fr. Ndrew briefed us about the whole programme.

Due responsibilities were given to various members. After a few meetings the date 7th August dawned. The Dean of Margao deanery who is also the Parish Priest of Grace Church Rev Fr. Tomas Lobo along with other Parish Priests of Navelim, Fatorda, Margao, Dicarpale, various priests of the religious Orders, numbering more than 30 were welcomed by our children with a flower as a token of love. They participated in the Holy Eucharist. Rev Fr. Jose Roque Gonsalves, of CLERGY HOME preached the Homily. He spoke about the role of a Priest in the Parish and relationship and responsibilities with the Laity. He also spoke about ST. JOHN MARIE VIANEY the patron of Parish Priest.

After the Mass, a candle was given to every person who attended the Mass with a name of the priest inscribed on it. They were told to pray for this Priest and all other Priests as well. After the Mass all were given a piece of cake to celebrate this day.

The Priests, Nuns and other Religious assembled in St. Sebastian Hall, where they were served snacks and tea. Variety entertainment programme was also held. A small skit, a song, and a Mando was performed. A Game was conducted as an ice-breaker. As a token of Love a gift was also given to every Priest who attended. A talk by Rev. Fr. Kyriel D’Souza SFX was a part of the itinerary. After the talk all the Priests went up to the Priests Residence, where the dinner was served.

It was really an experience for all of us to see the Joy of serving the various Parish Priests who also strive to serve the people and ever willing to do so without a grin on their face.

We thank God for the gift of a Priest.
