My dear friends

As is customary, after the three Kings’ Feast on 6th January, it was time to bring down all the lights, the Christmas tree and all the glitzy decorations, adorning our homes & the streets. The children carried out this exercise with a tinge of sadness, more so when Baby Jesus had to be wrapped up and remain boxed till the next Christmas.

The fresh year 2021 is already a month old and it’s time for serious thinking and for implementing the various New Year resolutions. Let us move forward with renewed hope and vigour and pray to our Heavenly Father for positive changes in our lives. In doing so, let us not forget the bitter and painful lessons which 2020 has taught us – the effects and after effects striking one and all with untold hardships and sufferings. Let us support each other and lend a helping hand to those in need. Many of us are blessed in many ways and are better – off than others. Always remember that whatever we have is all received from God. Many a times, our riches tend to make us proud. Let not pride overtake our feelings as we all know that pride is the root of all evils whereas humility is the queen of all virtues. The prevailing pandemic has made us realize that our riches, our caste or creed makes no difference at all. No one is spared and our immediate future is not assured.

We are happy to note that we can celebrate the Novenas and feast of our Patron, St.  Sebastian in our Parish with relaxed restrictions on the participation of devotees in the religious services in the Church. May our protector, St. Sebastian, continue to protect us and save all of us from this dreaded virus and totally eliminate it at the earliest. I take this opportunity to wish all of you and your family members, a very Happy Feast.

I would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all the sponsors / advertisers, for contributing towards this Special Issue of our magazine, “PORMOLL”. Your constant support has contributed immensely to its steady growth. Thank you and may God bless you.

Very soon our 40 days’ Lenten season will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021. This is the perfect time to give our total attention in glorifying our God. This season opens doors for us to change into the person that God wants us to be. Step up and do your part. Experience the goodness of our Lord every day of your lives, be thankful to Him and share your blessings with others. Have a blessed Lenten Season!!

Until we meet again!
