Felicitation of Felix Dias and Antonette Fernandes

At the Kantaram Lharam event held on 30th Jan 2024, Mr. Felix Dias & Mrs. Antonette Fernndes were felicitated. This was their introduction:
We go around looking for inspiration in celebrities and famous people. Cliched isn’t it!! Why not get inspired by someone who is relatable and part of our very own Parish.
Felix Dias
He is a benign, yet a zealous personality. Firstly, he is and has been very passionately for a very long time the editor of our church bulletin “Pormoll”. On that account, very wise and knowledgeable, because the same wisdom reflects in his writings and editing. He was also an ardent member of the Cofre Committee and an ever present, ever willing, go-to person for all the church affairs.
Count of years makes you grow and look old. But this man has defied the numbers in his age. He likes cultural and religious stage. He still likes and continues to act on stage for all the necessary programs. He doesn’t shy away even to act as a little naughty school student. Singing is his forte. Always makes himself available for church choirs on ordinary and festive occasions. Enjoys singing traditional songs and manddos.
He is non other than Mr. Felix Dias.
Antonette Fernandes
On the other hand we have a lady, who is so simple, down to earth and calming. She has been serving the church for almost 25 years in all her capacity. She is also a member of the very active Legion of Mary Group. Come rain or sun, she never misses to attend the daily mass. She is such a devoted person to her duties and obligations. She’s our very own Antonette.
Strikingly, both Felix and Antonette are blessed with a musical voice. Weekdays or Sunday mass, both have never shied away from singing in the Choir. They don’t sing because it’s their duty or obligation, rather they do it out of love for singing and to glorify God. Both have seen the church grow from a small chapel to this ginormous church we are so proud of.
It’s truly a blessing to have such a brilliant example of selfless love and faithfulness in our midst. We sincerely pray that a similar spark ignites within the congregation as we continue to serve the church. It is about time their selfless work be recognized, and what better day than today on this melodic stage among the presence of all the musical personas.
I Extend my hearty Congratulations to both of them. However I can’t stop myself from singling out Mr. Felix Dias for a special word of appreciation on this happy occasion.
Some men are born great. Some achieve greatness. Some have greatness thrust upon them. Felix’ s felicitation is a classic epitome of the last two. He has achieved greatness due to his hard work and dedication both at his workplace and our parish. Knowing him for the last 55 years to me greatness was thrust upon him more because of his unselfishness, humbleness, simplicity and humility towards his friends, neighbours and people at large. We too should learn from him and follow his path of unselfishness, humbleness and simplicity and make him a role model of our life. Congratulations to Felix and his family and may the Lord bless and grant him good health to continue serving our Lord. God bless!!
