After the normal rainfall in the months of July and August we are looking forward to the cool and dry months of September onwards.
After having begun their classes in June the students are looking forward to the coming festival holidays.
Liturgically the important days of this month are:
8th – The Birthday of The Blessed Virgin Mary
14th – The Exaltation of the Holy Cross
15th – Our Lady of Sorrows
21st – St. Mathew the apostle and evangelist
27th – St. Vincent De Paul
29th – The Archangels: Saints Michael, Gabriel & Raphael
30th – St. Jerome a priest and doctor of the Church. He began the task of translating the Bible to Latin as well as promoting the monastic life. He settled in Bethlehem where he gave great help to the needs of the Church. He wrote many books, specially commentaries on the scriptures. The Parish Church at Mapusa, Goa is dedicated to the saint.
Let us reflect on the above information and prepare ourselves to attend the liturgical services in the Church in this month.
