Marriages Planning

They Say “ Marriages are made in heaven but so is thunder and

lightning” – Clint Eastwood.

Marriages have been such extravagant affairs that it has been a prestige issue . This sometimes puts a lot of burden on parents who have to take hefty loans just to make it a grand affair. I have notice during Covid times so many people suffered losing their jobs even some working on ships and abroad, making it difficult to pay even their loans.  It is always wise to plan your budget .

First of all never rush into a marriage unless you are sure that the person is right for you. Understanding , caring & mainly adjusting to each other’s needs is very important in a happy married life. Read more

Mother’s Day Celebration

On 10th September 2023, we witnessed a large gathering of parishioners, both for the Liturgical Celebration, by the catechists and the short but entertaining programme, lovingly organized by the catechists with the students from all catechism classes.

‘A Mother’s Love is forever.’

After the children’s mass the programme which was organised in the old Chapel, witnessed a packed audience of mothers, children, grandparents and fathers too at 10:15 am. The welcome song and dance by the pre-communion children, struck a chord for every mother, present, as the children voiced their gratitude through the song and then tapped their feet to the rhythmic dance of the little ones.  Read more

Hyperuricemia

Uric acid is a waste product that’s created when your body breaks down chemicals called purines. Purines are normally produced in the body and are also found in some foods and drinks. Most uric acid dissolves in your blood, passes through your kidneys and leaves your body in your urine. If your body produces too much uric acid or does not remove enough of it, you can get sick. “Hyperuricemia” is the medical term for having high uric acid levels in your body. Read more

Editorial – September 2023

I recollect what a world-famous designer and author suffering from cancer, wrote before her death:” This house, this car, this plane, this furniture, this Bank, this excessive fame and glory, none of these are useful to me -none of this will relax me as there is nothing real, except death. At the end of the day, the most important thing is health.”There is nothing but the truth in these words. We see so many people suffering from fearful diseases day in and day out. We hear people complaining of the pains and aches they go through in their lives, maybe in their homes or in hospitals. In such situations, they are all the time focussed and preoccupied with their health issues not forgetting the financial burdens in settling the medical bills. Read more

Mother’s Day

A famous author once said – ‘God could not be everywhere, so He created mothers. It’s not that the author denied that God is present everywhere, it’s just that he wanted to remind us that we experience God’s presence in a special way because of our mothers.

On the 8th of September, we Catholics celebrate the feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary. This day is traditionally celebrated as Mother’s Day in our parishes. By virtue of divine motherhood, Mary has become mother of us all. What an amazing gift that is. Isn’t it?

Every year on this day I take a pause from my daily routine to thank God for my heavenly mother but also for my earthly mother who has done so much for me. What I am today is due to God’s blessings and human guidance. And in this human guidance my mother is there always leading the way. Read more

SAINT PADRE PIO – A SAINT OF OUR TIMES

Saint Padre Pio is the most popular, fascinating and extraordinary saint of our times. A simple friar, mystic and teacher, he is a living image of Christ’s suffering & Resurrection. He is believed to be God’s way of showing those who ‘must see in order to believe’, that His (God’s) Existence is real. In showing the secret of Mysticism, Padre Pio Said, “There is one thing I desire from you, above everything else – that your normal meditation be if possible, around the Life, Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

The Life of Padre Pio, a humble and pious Capuchin Priest, is considered to be blessed in mysterious ways. Even as a young boy, there seemed to be something different about him. While other children if his age were playing, Padre Pio spent much of his free time reading the gospel and praying.  Read more

St. Mathew

“Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.”(Mathew 9:9)

Mathew was the son of Alpheus, probably born in Galilee sometime in the 1st century. St. Mathew was one of Jesus’s 12 apostles and also one of the four Evangelists, according to the Bible.

Mathew authored the first Gospel of the Bible’s New Testament, between 60 and 90, now known as the Gospel of Mathew.

He was a tax collector before he met Jesus and was known as Levi. After his conversion, Mathew became a faithful disciple of Jesus, traveling with Him and learning from Him.

When he invited Jesus home for a feast, the Scribes and Pharisees were upset and criticized Jesus for eating with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus answered them by saying, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. (Mark 2:17) Read more
