ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY

O fair Lady, lily white,
Star of the sea, my heart’s delight,
Illuminating dark of night,
How wondrously thou was assumed,
Body and soul, into heaven
Radiant moon, mirror of the Sun,
Reflecting His Light, Immaculate One.

O what joy must did abound,
As the heavenly host gathered round
Thine Immaculate throne, Seat of Wisdom,
So full of grace, Ark of the Covenant
Bread of Life’s abiding place
Spring flow of grace
O what a wondrous spectacle!
Holy of holies, Virgin Tabernacle.

Immaculate virgin mother queen
Hide us in your royal bridal suit
Raise us in your glorious assumption
Pour graces from God’s heavenly garden,
Holy soul, delight of God’s eye
Never bid us a darkened bye
Shine thy light much bright!
Precious pearl in God’s sight.
