Mother’s Day Report

The day that celebrates the essence of a mother is Mother’s Day and is one of those occasions that none of us can afford to miss to show our love for our mothers. So in order to honor the mothers, we, the Catechetical Association had a small celebration on 10th September, wherein we had mass for all the mothers and special blessings were showered upon them. After the mass there was a short programme. Every year we used to select one mother as a representative for all mothers. But this year we didn’t select any representative, instead we made Mother Mary as our Chief Guest, the role model for every mother.

The programme started with a song by catechism children showing their love for mothers. This song brought smiles on our beloved mothers’ faces. After the song a video was shown, on how a mother fulfils her responsibilities with a smile on her face. A mother balances her daily life very well, maybe at work or at home and fulfils all her duties unflinchingly and who can be a better witness to relate this than a father. So, we had a father, who spoke a few words regarding this and he indeed made justice in relating the role of a mother. A mother does a lot of sacrifices to raise her children and to see them happy but we often forget to thank her. So in order to say thanks to the mothers for their endless love and care, our catechism student Master Gordon Trindade, thanked and praised all mothers. His words were very touching. To show their love towards their mothers’, the catechism children had made lovely cards, which were given to the mothers. The heartwarming gestures of their children gave immense joy to the mothers. Those children whose mothers couldn’t be present for the programme, their cards were kept near the statue of mother Mary and offered to her. The program ended with a video appreciating the mothers and sweets distributing sweets to everyone.
