Each year the Roman Catholic Church commemorates the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne on July 26th. They were the privileged parents of Mary who grew in grace and God’s favour to give birth to the incarnate Son of God. Undoubtedly, their faith in God laid the foundation for her to accept God’s will in her life. Saints Joachim and Anne are the patron saints of grandparents and serve as great models of faith for families as well.

God’s most precious work of art is the warmth and love of a grandparent’s heart. Our whole world doesn’t revolve around them but they inspire us the most. We consider our grandparents as constitutions of love, mercy and compassion. They are not our whole lives but they are really a big part of it.
FIFA world cup is one of the most awaited sport in the world today. This is the stage where all the countries fight for glory, the time when all, the old and the young back their nations. The players who play for their country are like inspirations to all the youth. They encourage the young minds to be a sport in whatsoever situations they are in. These players set a perfect example for the quote ‘Greatness is achieved only through hardships’. All time football stars like Diego Maradona, Pele, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo have made a mark in the world of football today. They are just not professional footballers but they are also worshipped as the gods of football by the soccer fans. Each player has his own story to tell. They are just not stories, they are phases that each player has gone through, to be the people who they are today. One of them is Cristiano dos Santos Averio, also known as Cristiano Ronaldo or CR7 who is the world’s most known professional footballer in today’s modern times. Like every other athlete, Ronaldo has been through some hard times of his own. A young chap from Sao Pedro whose mother was a cook and father was a municipal gardener and a part time Kit man.
The knock on my door came around four years back, by one of the PPC members requesting me to join the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). I politely declined the request informing that it wasn’t for me as I may not be able to carry out the responsibilities. But, the then Parish Priest Fr. Ligorinho asked me why I wasn’t interested in taking up as a member of the PPC. I was quick enough to let him know my fears.
After listening to me he replied “God is there watching and He will give you all the help you need, do it for Him and His people, and we are here to assist you.” these words helped me to take up this responsibility with faith and courage.
Gardening is the hobby of growing and cultivating plants and be a part of horticulture. In gardens, if ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers, foliage, or overall appearance, useful plants, such as root vegetables, leafy vegetables, fruits and herbs are grown for consumption, for medicinal or cosmetic use.
Gardening is considered by many people to be a relaxing activity. Gardening may be very specialized, with only one type of plant grown, or involve a large number of different plants in mixed plantings. Gardening is a relaxing hobby that can be enjoyed by people from any age group. A person may like gardening because he likes the feeling of earth on his palms.
World Day Against Child Labour (12.06.2018)
World Day against child labour was observed on 12th June in our school. The purpose of this programme was to bring awareness on child labour to the children and the laws enacted by the government to eliminate child labour.
Feast of St. Anthony of Padua (13.06.2018)
The feast of St. Anthony was celebrated on 13th June 2018. The importance of celebrating this feast in the school is to conscientize students about the importance of the Saint for the role he played during his life time in spreading the word of God and in his miracles.
With the summer season winding up, the rainy season is anxiously awaited. The relaxing holidays are over and the students as well as their parents are confronted with the problems associated with the beginning of the academic year specially those who have to get admissions in new schools and other institutions.
The month of June is synonymous with the devotion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This important feast is celebrated on 8th June.
Similarly the feast of Corpus Christi – The Body and Blood of Christ is celebrated on 3rd June. The feast of the Immaculate Heart of Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated on 9th June. The other feasts which are celebrated are Nativity of John the Baptist on 24th June, St. Peter and Paul on 29th June. The most popular feast celebrated in our parish is that of St. Anthony of Padua on 13th June at Toleband, Aquem Chapel, which is superbly decorated for the purpose. Let us all take an active part in celebrating the novenas and the feast of this miraculous saint.
