Pormoll Editorial – November 2022

We are in the penultimate month of this year,2022,a month dedicated to the dead. It`s a fact of life that whoever is born to this world, has to necessarily die.It is said,to die is easy,it’s living that’s hard,as those living, mourn the death of their loved ones.

The Church celebrates 1st November as the day to remember all the Saints and Martyrs during the Christian history.Centuries and generations have passed by since their deaths but we remember and pray to all the holy men and women who have been canonized by the Church. In addition,we can pray not only to our favourite Saints, but we can also call upon our departed brothers and sisters who we believe are already with God,enjoying heavenly bliss.

All Souls Day,on 2nd November,is the day for commemoration of all the faithful departed, those baptized Christians who are believed to be in Purgatory because they died with the guilt of lesser sins on their souls.Through prayers, intercessions, alms and visits to the cemeteries,we need to commemorate the poor souls suffering in Purgatory and gain them indulgences.

On 3rd November, our St.Sebastian Church,Aquem, celebrates the 20th Anniversary of it’s elevation to the status of a Church.Let’s all rejoice and extend greetings to each other on this happy occasion.
Advent 2022 starts on 27th November. It is the 3-week period leading up to Christmas from December 1st to Dcember 24th.Let’s all gear ourselves to prepare for the coming of Jesus and the celebration of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Vicar,Fr.Andrew Pereira, celebrates his birthday on 30th November. On behalf of all the members of PORMOLL Editorial Board and on my personal behalf I extend all our good wishes to him on this joyous occasion. We pray that God will protect him and shine His glorious light on his path as he travels through another year of life.
Until we meet again, take care and be safe..!
