St. John the Baptist

St. John the Baptist the front runner before Jesus Christ. St. John was to become the God ordained messenger proclaiming the arrival of the Messiah Jesus Christ. He was a person filled with Holy Spirit preaching the word and announcing the kingdom. Prepare the way and repent, be baptised. He baptised with water. When he was asked if he was the Messiah? He said the one who comes after me; I am not worthy to untie His shoe laces.

Saint John the Baptist was born to St. Elizabeth and St. Zechariah in Judea.

We read about his birth prior to Jesus in the second Joyful Mystery (visitation of Mother Mary). When Angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus Christ to Mother Mary. He also metioned about her cousin Elizabeth who bears a child in the old age and she is 6 months pregnant. Mother Mary goes to visit her cousin and then there is salutation. The child in St. Elizabeth’s womb jumped with joy and rejoiced, that the Saviour of the World has come to visit them. Read more

Pray to St. Anthony – Expect a Miracle

St. Anthony of Padua performed numerous miracles when He lived and even more after His death. He is called the saint of miracles because His miracles are countless and He still continues to intercede for us. Each one of us at some point in our life might have surely interceded to this great saint. This great Saint when on earth showed immense power in his words and deeds through the power of the Holy Spirit. It has been testified that Jesus would often appear to Him as a child. Ah what more do we require? That’s all and hence we entrust Him as our ambassador to deliver our prayers to the most Holy Lord Jesus Christ. There is no doubt about our faith in St. Anthony but however let me share a Miracle of St. Anthony taken from the book “MIRACLES OF SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA” – BY JOSEPH A. Root Canal Treatements

If you are experiencing sharp tooth ache or pain while eating, localized to a particular tooth, then chances are you might require a root canal treatment or RCT. Root canal treatments are a common procedure carried out by the average dentist. But you might be wondering what exactly is an RCT and how is it going to help you.

Let me begin by saying that it is the best practice to visit your dentist every year for an annual check-up to avoid any invasive treatments such as root canal treatments or tooth extractions. However, if your dentist suggests that you need a root canal treatment then there’s no need to be worried. Millions of teeth are treated and saved from decay this way each year, relieving pain, and making teeth healthy again.

Inside your tooth, beneath the hard, white enamel and dentin layer, is a soft tissue called the pulp. The pulp is made up of blood vessels and nerves that provide nutrition to help the tooth fully grow and develop. Once fully developed, your tooth can still survive without the central pulp as the tissues surrounding the tooth are capable enough to fully nourish it. Read more

Editorial – May 2022

We have recently celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rising from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion on the Cross, Jesus gave us eternal hope which is the greatest gift of Easter. This hope makes us have that confidence in God and in His goodness and love. In our own lives we too have our burdens and a Cross to carry, which will lead to sadness and disappointments, but in the end our hope tells us that defeat will always be followed by glory. Covid-19, the dreaded sickness, did bring everything to a standstill. We are painfully aware of the hardships and trauma faced by one and all for such a long period of time. So many people were in a total mess and many even lost their lives and that of their loved ones, leading to a critical and hopeless situation. But we also know that our God is all-powerful and merciful. Slowly but surely, He has made it happen, helping us to turn the page. The infections have been reduced to a bare minimum, almost negligible. In a big way, it’s a victory of sorts over the disease. We could celebrate Easter in the true spirit of hope manifesting victory over the sufferings. Praise and thank God for His goodness. Read more

Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Life often brings to us situations where we have to choose:-

a) Either to forget ourselves and our needs and to reach out to another;

b) With a ‘Can’t be bothered’ attitude, ignore the need of another, giving priority to our own situation and problems.

In the midst of one’s own struggle, to be able to see what the other is going through and reach out in self-forgetfulness, is to truly obey Jesus’s command, “As I have loved you, love one another.” Read more

Ascension of Our Lord

In Christian theology, the Death, Resurrection and Exaltation of Jesus are the most important events, and a foundation of the Christian faith. Easter is the most important festival in the Christian Calendar. It celebrates God raising His Son, Jesus, from the dead, which for Christians symbolizes Jesus’ destruction of the power of sin and the possibility of an after life in Heaven.

Christians remember the events of the last week of Jesus’ life (before the crucifixion) during the Holy Week. Holy Week ends with Easter Sunday which is the day when Christians celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

St. Philip Neri

St. Philip Neri was a Christian missionary and founder of the Congregation of the Oratory, a community of Catholic priests and lay brothers. He was born in Florence on July 21, 1515 as one of four children to Francesco Neri.

From a very young age, Philip was known for being cheerful and obedient. He was affectionately referred to as “good little Phil.” He received his early teachings from friars at the Dominican monastery in Florence, San Marco.

At the age of 18, Philip went off to live with a wealthy family member in San Germano. He was sent there to assist in – and possibly inherit – the family business. However, soon after his arrival, Philip experienced a mystical vision, which he eventually spoke of as his Christian conversion. This event was an encounter with the Lord and it dramatically changed his life.
